ITINERARY
Day 01:- Arrive in Delhi, India.
Fly and Overnight in Delhi. On arrival, please collect your luggage and proceed towards the exit. You will be met by our representative with a sign and taken to your private vehicle with your driver. You will then be driven to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax after your flight - perhaps take a dip in the pool, or maybe even head into Delhi for a look around.
Day 02:- Delhi - Leh (Fly)
You will be collected from the hotel by your driver and driven to the airport for your flight from Delhi to Leh. On arrival, you will be met at the airport and driven to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to acclimatize, which is important due to the high altitude.
Day 03:- Leh
The day is at leisure for you to acclimatize. You are welcome to explore Leh at your own pace. In the evening, there is an excursion to Shanti Stupa for sunset; this white Buddhist monument sits at 4,267m and commands excellent views over the city - take it easy because you're higher than any of the ski resorts in the Alps.
Day 04:- Leh
The morning is spent exploring the sights of Leh with your driver and guide. This includes the area surrounding the city, with a visit to the Tibetan SOS children's village and the oracle of Leh, who may be able to shed some light on any matters that have been bothering you.
Day 05:- Leh
Today is spent exploring the landscape to the southeast of Leh, where there are several major monasteries set in a spectacular landscape. You'll visit the monasteries at Thiksey, Shey, and Hemis and you can expect to arrive back into Leh late in the day. It's well worth getting an early start and visiting Thikse at 6 am to witness the monks' morning prayers.
Day 06:- Leh - Alchi
You are driven westward along the Indus Valley to Alchi and Rizong Monastery can easily be seen en route. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, this area is incredibly isolated and it is fascinating to see how the lifestyle of the monks is adapted to the remoteness. On arrival in Alchi, the rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 07:- Alchi
Today is spent exploring Alchi and the ancient Buddhist history of the area. The rest of the day is at leisure; should you feel active there are plenty of walks in the area.
Day 08:- Alchi
From Alchi, you continue westwards along the Indus Valley to the monastery at Lamayuru. This pretty monastery is perched on a crag at 3500m and makes for a spectacular place for some contemplation.
Day 09:- Alchi - Leh
Drive back to Leh and view the sights that may have been missed en route to Alchi such as Basgo and Magnetic Hill.
Day 10:- Leh
You should by now be completely acclimatized to the altitude. A half-day walk allows you to see the rural sights more closely, and the walk from Leh to Saboo, surrounded by farmland and mountains is beautiful.
Day 11:- Leh - Nubra Valley
A long drive over the locally claimed world's highest pass takes you to the Nubra Valley. The drive takes several hours but includes a stop at a picturesque restaurant and several long stops for photos. The signs at the top proclaim it to be 5,602m, but not only is this probably an exaggeration, but there are also several other roads which vie for the title. Whatever the truth, this is one of the highest roads you'll find and breathtaking experience in every way.
Day 12:- Nubra Valley
Today is spent exploring the Nubra Valley, including an excursion to Diskit and a camel ride in the sand dunes of Hundar. It will feel positively tropical down at 3000m and a complete contrast to yesterday's glaciers.
Day 13:- Nubra Valley
The morning is spent traveling to the other side of the valley to the remote but scenic Samstanling Monastery. On your return, the rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 14:- Nubra Valley - Leh
You are driven back to Leh, again over the high pass. The journey should take less time as there will be fewer stops, but will still take 5 - 6 hours, and there will be plenty of time to admire the views.
Day 15:- Leh
Today is spent exploring the surroundings of Leh, including visits to Stakna, Matho, and Stok. These monasteries enjoy the end of the world locations, surrounded by towering peaks - ideal for some meditation.
Day 16:- Leh - Delhi (Fly)
You will be collected from the hotel by your driver and driven to the airport for your flight from Leh to Delhi. You will then be collected from the domestic terminal and driven to the international terminal in time for your international flight.
