Welcome To Rann Utsav

Step into Kutch at its most vibrant and unforgettable as Rann Utsav lights up the White Desert this December, starting on the 1st. Held every year, the festival invites travellers to enjoy soulful folk music and dance performances, watch skilled artisans create traditional crafts by hand, and shop directly from NGOs, village co-operatives and local craftspeople. It's also a chance to explore Gujarat's magnificent historical monuments and discover hidden corners far from the usual tourist trail. Throughout the festival, the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd. takes care of everything — transport, accommodation, meals and guided sightseeing — so you can simply enjoy the journey. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience one of India's most colorful and culturally rich regions.

About Rann Utsav

A riot of colours, an abundance of design, a richness of culture, and a symphony of music and dance — all converge in the arid landscapes of Kutch to create a breathtaking tapestry that captures the true essence of the region. Kutch, one of Gujarat's most ecologically and ethnically diverse districts, is a land that celebrates art, craft, music, dance, people, and nature in equal measure. Each winter, under moonlit skies and against a backdrop of striking, contrasting terrain, this spirit comes alive through a multi-day festival brimming with warmth, energy, and traditional charm — known as Rann Utsav.

Spread across several locations within Kutch, this multi-day carnival takes visitors on a journey through the region's natural splendour while introducing them to its distinct cultural and ethnic identity. The semi-arid grasslands of Banni serve as a stunning showcase of vernacular architecture and a platform for the region's diverse arts and crafts. Folk music and dance performances set against the shimmering, moonlit desert create an experience unlike any other. Vibrant fairs held near the coast or lakeside add to the festive fervour, while a guided tour through Kutch offers the perfect opportunity to connect with its people and immerse yourself in a true celebration of life.

The festival kicks off in Bhuj city and travels across the district, culminating in a grand finale back at its starting point.
